Abstract
Objective To investigate the effects of probiotics combined with mesalazine on the disease activ-ity index(DAI)and intestinal flora in patients with ulcerative colitis(UC).Methods A total of 84 UC patients admitted to our hospital from April 2021 to December 2023 were randomly divided into the combination group and the monotherapy group,with 42 cases in each group.The monotherapy group received mesalazine alone,while the combination group was additionally treated with probiotics.Both groups received continuous treatment for 2 months.Clinical efficacy,inflammatory markers[C-reactive protein(CRP),interleukin-1β(IL-1β),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)],counts of intestinal flora,DAI scores,immune function and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate in the combina-tion group was higher than that in the monotherapy group(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of CRP,IL-1β and TNF-α in both groups were lower than those before treatment,and the levels in the combination group were lower than those in the monotherapy group(P<0.05).Compared with before treatment,the counts of Bifidobacterium,Lactobacillus and B/E ratio in both groups were increased,while the count of Escherichia coli was decreased.Moreover,the counts of Bifidobacterium,Lactobacillus and B/E ratio in the combination group were higher,and the count of Escherichia coli was lower than those in the monotherapy group(P<0.05).After treatment,DAI scores and CD8⁺ levels in both groups were lower than those before treatment,while CD4⁺ levels and CD4⁺/CD8⁺ ratio were higher.Furthermore,DAI scores and CD8⁺ levels in the combination group were lower,and CD4⁺ levels and CD4⁺/CD8⁺ ratio were higher than those in the monotherapy group(P<0.05).No drug-related adverse reactions occurred in either group during treatment.Conclusion Probiot-ics combined with mesalazine is safe in the treatment of UC,and can improve therapeutic efficacy,alleviate sys-temic inflammatory response,regulate intestinal flora and enhance immune function.关键词
