Abstract

To elucidate the epidemiological status of porcine circovirus(PCV)types 1-4 in Guangxi Province,a total of 2 822 tissue and swab samples suspected of PCV infected pigs were collected from 13 prefecture-level cities in Guangxi between 2017 and 2023.All samples were tested using a quadruplex TaqMan real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction(qPCR)assay.The results showed that the overall detection rate of the four PCV types was 57.80%.The single-infection rate was 48.80%,among which PCV2 exhibited the highest detection rate(32.35%).The mixed-infection rate was 9.00%,with PCV1+PCV2 being the most prevalent mixed infection(3.08%).Analysis of single PCV infections revealed that PCV4 infection was not detected from 2017 to 2022.The overall detection rate in the fourth quarter was significantly higher than that in the other three quarters.Nanning City showed the highest overall detection rate,whereas no PCV was detected in Laibin City.These findings indicate that PCV types 1-4 infections are present in Guangxi Province,with PCV2 being the predominant genotype.Mixed infections mainly involve PCV1 and PCV2.This study provides a scientific basis for the precise prevention and control of PCV types 1-4 in this region.
