Three-dimensional finite element analysis of a tension-measuring and adjustable skin stretching and approximating device

Abstract
Objective To construct a three-dimensional finite element model of human leg skin wounds and to evaluate the effectiveness of a tension-measuring and adjustable skin stretching and approximating device by using finite element analysis to simulate two stress conditions:variation in vertical rod height and var-iation in wound gap width,so as to refine the structural parameters of the device and provide theoretical guid-ance for subsequent animal experiments and prototype development.Methods Solidworks 2017 and ANSYS 17.0 software were used to successively establish composite finite element models of skin stretching with differ-ent vertical rod heights and different wound gap widths.A maximum physiological load(3 kg,approximately 29.4 N)was applied,and the maximum stress value and distribution of the curved needles,needle holders,the vertical rod,and springs were analyzed by the finite element method.Results ①For vertical rod heights of 4,6,8,10,12 and 14 mm,the maximum stresses on the curved needles,needle holders,the vertical rod,and springs did not exceed the yield stress,demonstrating the stability and reliability of the structure.The vertical rod height was set to 10 mm.②During the process of wound gap width gradually closing from 6 cm to 0 cm,the maximum stress values of all components did not exceed the yield stress.The stress distribution was relatively uniform throughout the closure process,mainly concentrated at the junction of the curved needles and the needle holders.However,the stress concentration in the focal region remained significantly lower than the yield stress.Therefore,the curved needles and needle holders would not fracture due to stress concentration.Conclusion The tension-measurable and adjustable skin stretching and approximating device provides sufficient strength and stiffness under physiological load,ensuring reliable safety and biomechanical stability to meet clinical needs.关键词
