Cao Hongxin's Treatment of Pulmonary Epidemic Diseases Using the Method of Removing Pathogens and Detoxification
摘要
Abstract
Pulmonary epidemic diseases are primarily caused by"epidemic toxins",often in combination with pathogenic factors such as cold,dampness,dryness,and heat.Their core pathogenesis is characterized by"constraint,toxin,and deficiency",with rapid onset and strong transmissibility.Professor Cao Hongxin proposed the method of"removing pathogens and detoxification"for the prevention and treatment of pulmonary epidemic diseases,targeting the pathological features of"pathogens lingering on the exterior and those penetrating inward being prone to constraint and heat transformation",and has achieved definitive therapeutic effects.By tracing the theoretical origins of the traditional Chinese medicine approaches of"guiding pathogens outward"and"detoxification"in the treatment of pulmonary epidemic diseases,this article provides an in-depth interpretation of the core principles of the"removing pathogens and detoxification"method.It suggests that this method centers on"dispersing",emphasizing the opening of the interstices and the free flow of Qi dynamics,with"detoxification"as the key to clearing epidemic toxins and curbing disease progression.It also highlights the concurrent application of pathogen elimination and healthy Qi reinforcement,aiming to support dispersal through supplementation and strengthen the root to prevent disease progression.Clinical studies have confirmed the efficacy of"removing pathogens and detoxification"formulas in preventing and treating pulmonary epidemic diseases such as severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS),influenza A(H1N1),and coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).Experimental studies have further shown that these formulas,with chlorogenic acid and baicalin as their core active components,act on multiple pulmonary function-and inflammation-related signaling pathways,exerting antiviral,anti-inflammatory,and immunomodulatory effects to achieve therapeutic outcomes.This article provides a comprehensive discussion of the scientific basis and reliability of the"removing pathogens and detoxification"method from theoretical,clinical,and experimental perspectives,aiming to offer effective strategies and approaches for the prevention and treatment of pulmonary epidemic diseases with traditional Chinese medicine,as well as to provide insights for the management of other epidemic diseases.关键词
