Research Progress in the Identification,Evaluation,and Innovative Utilization of Wild Rice Germplasm Resources in Hainan

Abstract
Wild abortive(WA)type,Honglian(HL)type,and Boro Ⅱ(BT)type are three major types of cytoplasmic male sterility(CMS)lines recognized by the international rice breeding community.The wild abortive and Hongmang wild rice,the original parental plants of CMS-WA and CMS-HL hybrid rice,respectively,were discovered in Hainan.The wild rice in Hainan possesses rich genetic diversity and environmental adaptability,being the important germplasm resource for rice breeding.However,the current research on wild rice germplasm resources in Hainan is not systematic and in-depth enough.This article systematically summarized the important progress in the identification,evaluation,and innovative utilization of wild rice in Hainan and proposed suggestions about key points in the future research,aiming to provide references for the efficient and sustainable utilization of wild rice resources in Hainan.关键词
