Microwave Heating System for Continuous Bar Stock Based on Quasi-coaxial Structure

Abstract
Microwave heating offers the advantages of high efficiency and environmental friendliness,holding significant potential for development in the fields of rod material synthesis and drying.However,in practical appli-cations,the length of rod material is often considerable,and the electric field distribution inside the cavity exhibits periodicity,leading to uneven heating.A single-mode,quasi-coaxial structure based continuous microwave heating system for rod materials is proposed,in which TEM-mode electromagnetic waves are utilized to achieve uniform heating of the rod.Firstly,a multiphysics field simulation model for microwave heating based on a coaxial cavity is established.This model considers electromagnetic fields,thermal fields,and translational motion.Secondly,wooden rods with different moisture contents(20%,40%,and 60%)are used for heating experiments.The results show that the heating efficiencies of the rods with varying moisture contents all exceed 80%,and the overall coefficients of variation(COV)of the rods are between 0.05 and 0.09.Finally,the effects of rod movement speed,radius,cavity temperature,and conductor strip width on heating performance are analyzed to verify the robustness of the heating cavity.关键词
