Preparation of LiFePO4 cathode materials with excellent high-rate performance

Abstract
Lithium iron phosphate(LiFePO4)is a widely used cathode material for lithium-ion batteries,but its practical application is hindered by intrinsically low electronic conductivity,particularly under high-rate conditions.A solvothermal method employing 1,3-butanediol as the solvent was developed to synthesize LiFePO 4 with exceptional high-rate performance.The structure was characterized through X-ray powder diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).The results revealed that the as-prepared LiFePO 4 displayed a nanorod morphology,which facilitated efficient lithium-ion transport by shortening diffusion pathways.When evaluated as a cathode material in lithium-ion batteries,it delivered a discharge capacity of 120.2 mAh·g-1 at 5C,with a capacity retention rate of 82.7%after 300 cycles.These results indicate that the nano-sized LiFePO 4 synthesized via the solvothermal route using 1,3-butanediol as the solvent holds promising potential for high-rate lithium-ion battery applications.关键词
