Seasonal Characteristics of Exogenous Febrile Diseases

Abstract
Objective To explore the association between the 24 solar terms,72 pentads,and exogenous febrile diseases.Methods A total of 90 085 febrile patients who attended the Fever Clinic of Shuguang Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February 4,2023 to February 3,2024 were collected.The relationships between fever and solar terms,pentads,and temperature were analyzed.Results The peak incidence of febrile diseases was mainly concentrated in spring and winter.A significant nonlinear association was observed between the number of febrile cases and the 72 pentads(R2=0.265,adj.R2=0.221,P＜0.01),minimum temperature(R2=0.032,adj.R2=0.021,P＜0.05)as well as diurnal temperature range(R2=0.054,adj.R2=0.044,P＜0.05).Conclusions Exogenous febrile diseases exhibit distinct seasonal characteristics and are influenced by meteorological factors.These findings may provide a reference for the prevention and control of seasonal infectious diseases and for the allocation of medical resources.关键词
