Professor XU Ling's experience on Differentiation and Treatment of Pediatric Anorexia Based on the Theory of"Supporting Earth and Restraining Wood"
摘要
Abstract
Based on the physiological characteristics of children——"frequent liver excess and spleen de-ficiency"——and combined with contemporary environmental factors in syndrome differentiation and treat-ment,Professor XU Ling posits that the disease primarily affects the spleen but is closely related to the liver.Excessive liver qi transversely invading the spleen(earth)leads to impaired spleen transportation and dysfunc-tion,resulting in liver-spleen disharmony.She advocates for simultaneous treatment of the liver and spleen in managing pediatric anorexia,guided by the principle of"supporting earth and restraining wood."This ap-proach aims to strengthen the spleen,harmonize the stomach,soothe the liver,and alleviate depression by tonifying the spleen earth and dispersing liver wood.Drawing from clinical experience,Professor XU modifies the Xiaoyao San(逍遥散)formula to concurrently treat the liver and spleen,effectively alleviating symptoms such as poor appetite and reduced food intake in children.One proven case is included for illustration.关键词
