Exploring Professor CHANG Ke's clinical approach to pediatric adenoid hypertrophy:regulating the diaphragm based on the theory of Qi ascending and descending

Abstract
Pediatric adenoid hypertrophy is a prevalent respiratory disorder in children,characterized by nasal obstruction,mouth breathing,and snoring.If left untreated,it can lead to complications such as sinusitis and dentofacial developmental abnormalities,which severely impacts children's growth and well-being.Conventional medical treatments face challenges including surgical invasiveness,recurrence rates,and adverse effects of corticosteroids,while traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)offers significant therapeutic value due to its holistic,non-invasive,and safe approach.Professor CHANG Ke,with over four decades of clinical expertise in pediatric TCM,has innovatively proposed the"Diaphragm-regulation"therapeutic method.This approach is grounded in the core TCM theory of"Qi(气)movement and functional direction".By regulating the pivotal function of the diaphragm in governing Qi movement,it aims to restore the normal movement of Qi,blood,and body fluids in the Zang-Fu(脏腑)organs,thereby resolving pathological products like phlegm,dampness,and stasis.This provides a unique perspective for the TCM management of pediatric adenoid hypertrophy.This article systematically summarizes Professor CHANG's academic experience to offer a reference for clinical practice.关键词
