Professor Cai Xiaoping's Experience in Treating Stomatitis After Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy for Malignant Tumors

Abstract
Radiotherapy and chemotherapy are important treatment methods for malignant tumors,but the severe oral stomatitis they cause significantly affects patients'quality of life and reduces the efficacy of subsequent antitumor treatments.Western medicine mainly focuses on prevention and symptomatic treatment for oral stomatitis,with a lack of effective treatment methods at present.Based on nearly 30 years of clinical practice,Professor Cai Xiaoping has summarized that the main syndrome characteristics of oral ulcers after radiotherapy and chemotherapy are"fire","dampness","blood stasis",and"deficiency".Radiotherapy is regarded as"fire pathogen",which consumes the body's yin fluids;chemotherapy drugs cause toxic damage to spleen and stomach,leading to insufficient yin fluids and ascending deficiency fire.Long-term illness affects spleen and kidney,resulting in deficiency of both spleen and kidney.Professor Cai Xiaoping proposes an innovative treatment model of"regulating both spleen and kidney,and balancing water and fire"based on his years of clinical experience.He uses modified Gancao Xiexin Decoction combined with Sancai Fengsui Pill,achieving good therapeutic effects.关键词
