Effects of 1-MCP Treatment on the Storage Quality and Physiological Characteristics of Post-harvest Muskmelon

Abstract
Taking the'Balixiang'muskmelon as the test material,the effects of 1-MCP fumigation treatments at different concentrations(0.5,1.0,2.0 μL·L-1)on the fruit quality and physiological characteristics of muskmelon during storage at room temperature(20±1)℃ were investigated,to screen out the optimal 1-MCP treatment concentration and in order to provide reference for improve the preservation effect of muskmelons under room temperature storage conditions.The results showed that 1-MCP treatment significantly reduced the decay rate and weight loss rate of muskmelon fruits,delayed the decrease in fruit firmness,maintained high levels of soluble solids,soluble proteins,and vitamin C content,while inhibiting respiratory rate and enhancing antioxidant enzyme activity.Among them,1.0 μL·L-11-MCP treatment demonstrated the best effect,with a decay rate of only 23.7%and a weight loss rate of only 7.72%after 15 days of storage,and all quality and physiological indicators were superior to those of other treatments and the control.The conclusion proved that 1-MCP can effectively improve the quality of muskmelon stored at room temperature,and 1.0 μL·L-1 was the optimal treatment concentration,which can be used as an effective preservation technology for muskmelon storage at room temperature.关键词
