Research Progress on the gD Protein of Pseudorabies Virus
摘要
Abstract
Pseudorabies virus(PRV)infection can cause pseudorabies characterized by acute death in piglets,abortion in pregnant sows,and respiratory disease in adult pigs.In particular,the virulence of PRV variants emerging in China has increased since 2011,which leads to poor vaccine protection and poses a great threat to the healthy development of pig industry.PRV can encode a variety of glycoproteins,among which gD has been shown to be a multifunctional protein that plays an important role in mediating viral invasion,neural invasion,and inducing host immune response.In recent years,gD has been found to have potential application in the design of novel PRV vaccines.Therefore,this review focuses on the structural characteristics of gD and its involvement in viral infection mechanism,immune regulation mechanism,and application in new vaccines,in order to provide reference for PRV novel vaccine development.关键词
