Analysis of seepage and seepage control measures for dike considering spatial variability of hydraulic parameters

Abstract
To study the impact of seepage control measures on the seepage safety of dikes under conditions of spatial variability in hydraulic parameters,seepage analysis models are established based on three seepage control schemes which are clay core wall,stone rubble surface protection and geomembrane.In conjunction with the modified linear estimation method(MLEM),the hydraulic parameters of the upper fill of the dike are simulated as a random field,and the evolution of dike seepage resistance reliability is systematically analyzed.The results indicate that due to the spatial variability of hydraulic parameters,the hydraulic gradient of the dike exhibits significant dispersion,further leading to fluctuations in the reliability of different seepage control measures.Under different random field parameter combinations,the maximum reduction in dike seepage resistance reliability caused by the spatial variability of the permeability coefficient is up to 60%.The impact of the spatial variability of hydraulic parameters cannot be ignored.Among the three seepage control schemes,the geomembrane scheme exhibits the highest seepage resistance reliability,with the greatest improvement in reliability.It significantly reduces the risk of seepage failure and is suitable as a long-term stable seepage control measure.关键词
