Research Progress on Arc Quenching Performance of Eco-friendly Alternative Gases to SF6 Gas and Their Application in Equipment

Abstract
Under the background of international carbon reduction and the national dual-carbon strategy,signifi-cant progress has been made in SF6 eco-friendly alternative gases and their application in electrical equipment.In addition to such key properties as insulation and environmental protection of the gases,the arc interruption perfor-mance and the development of switchgear have become the focus of the industry.In this paper,the research prog-ress of arc interruption performance of the gases and their application in switchgear both at home and abroad are comprehensively reviewed.The performance simulation,test of such eco-environmentally gaseas as CO2,C4F7N,C5F10O and gas mixture as well as the equipment study are summarized.Moreover,the calculation of physical pa-rameters,simulation of arc characteristic and assessment of arc interruption performance are described.The arc characteristics,dielectric recovery performance,decomposition characteristics,and breaking capability of the eco-friendly alternative gases are compared by either arc simulation experiments or interruption tests.The application of the main eco-friendly gases in medium-voltage and high-voltage switchgears as well as its development are mainly introduced.It is pointed out that the development of the new eco-friendly gases and high power interruption technol-ogy is still ongoing,which provides technical support for the construction of green and low-carbon power grids.关键词
