Synthesis of 1,3,5-Triacrylamidotriazine via Dehydration of Acrylic Acid and Melamine

Abstract
1,3,5-Triacrylamidotriazine(TAM)was synthesized through the dehydration reaction between acrylic acid(AA)and melamine(M).Researchers systematically investigated the control conditions in the TAM synthesis process and determined the optimal preparation conditions.By means of nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy(1H-NMR),infrared spectroscopy(IR),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS),the chemical structure and micro-morphology of the purified sample were confirmed.The fundamental properties of the purified TAM powder were analyzed using thermogravimetric analysis(TG)and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET)specific surface area measurement.The results demonstrated that with 2,6-di-ter-butyl-4-methylphenol(DTB)as the polymerization inhibitor,under the conditions of a molar ratio of acrylic acid to melamine of 3∶1 and a constant temperature of 110℃ for 6.0 h,TAM could be purified with a yield as high as 97.94%.The synthesized TAM has laid a solid technical foundation for subsequent structural design of triazine-ring-shaped polymers,free-radical polymerization reactions,and the development of new polymer materials with novel structures and functional characteristics.关键词
