Abstract

To screen new tomato varieties suitable for planting in the Qiongshan region of Hainan,a field comparative ex-periment on new tomato varieties in winter cultivation was conducted,taking Qianxi,a variety commonly planted in Hainan all year round,as the control,and four tomato varieties(Aile 9704,Aile 9705,Aile 9709,and Linglong 209)were introduced.The experiment included observing and recording plant growth vigor,overall growth period,fruiting duration,fruit color,and presence or absence of ribs on fruits,measuring single fruit weight,fruit transverse diameter,fruit longitudinal diameter,and sweetness,analyzing disease resistance of each variety,and conducting a comprehensive comparison.The results showed that the days from transplanting to initial harvest of Aile 9709 and Linglong 209 were all less than that of the control variety;the marketable fruit harvesting period of Aile 9709 was the longest,reaching 92 d,and that of Linglong 209 reached 90 d,both longer than the control variety.In terms of disease resistance,Aile 9709 and Linglong 209 showed resistance to bacterial wilt and viral diseases.In the comprehensive comparison of various indicators,including sweetness,storage period,flavor,and botanical traits,Aile 9709 and Linglong 209 showed better comprehensive performance and could be tentatively determined as suitable varieties for local planting.
