福建九龙江口历史台风的沉积地球化学记录
Geochemical characteristics of historical typhoon deposits in the Jiulong River Estuary,Fujian Province,China

Abstract
Typhoons pose a serious threat to the sustainable socio-economic development of the southeastern coastal regions of China.However,the relatively short timeframe of instrumental records makes it difficult to reveal the long-term patterns of strong and super typhoons.This study aims to utilize geological records to investigate the sedimentary characteristics and occurrence cycles of historical typhoon events.Focusing on the Jiulong River Estuary in Fujian,a comprehensive analysis of grain size,organic carbon isotopes,and geochemical indicators was conducted,combined with historical typhoon records,to identify storm deposition events.The results indicate that:(1)Two storm surge events(possibly corresponding to Typhoon Nelson in 1985 and Typhoon Iris in 1959)and one flood event(possibly corresponding to Typhoon Pamela in 1961)were identified in the JY0 core;(2)Sediment grain size,organic carbon isotopes,and elemental geochemical characteristics are effective indicators for identifying typhoon deposits.The research confirms that estuarine sediments can serve as a reliable archive for reconstructing centennial-scale typhoon history.The integrated use of multiple geochemical indicators can effectively identify typhoon deposition layers and distinguish their causes(storm surge or flood).The methodology and findings of this study can provide a scientific basis for paleo-typhoon reconstruction typhoon disaster risk assessment in the southeastern coastal regions of China.关键词
