Abstract

The silk reeling industry is the foundation of the silk industrial chain.In the complex process of the silk reeling industry,the cocoon pre-treatment processes occupy an irreplaceable and crucial position,and can be regarded as one of the core links of the entire industry.Studying the variation law of cocoon silk quality under different cocoon pre-treatment processes and exploring the optimal cocoon processing procedure have great practical significance for the entire silk reeling industry. Cocoons from two varieties and eight producing areas were selected,and four cocoon pre-treatment processes were adopted respectively:frozen cocoon,fresh cocoon,dried cocoon and over-dried cocoon.The quality indicators of cocoon silk such as reeling recovery rate,denier,rush upon cocoon in reeling process,silk weight per cocoon,cleanness score and length of reeled silk were used to inspect the quality of cocoon silk under different cocoon pre-treatment processes.The radar chart method was used to comprehensively compare the performance of cocoon pre-treatment processes,and the rank sum test and Bayesian analysis of variance was applied to analyze the differences between procedures under single indicator. The radar chart results showed that among the eight groups of data divided by cocoon producing areas,the cocoon silk quality of the fresh cocoon procedure was the best in seven groups,followed by the frozen cocoon procedure;the fresh cocoon procedure performed the most stably in five producing areas,and the comprehensive performance ranking of cocoon pre-treatment processes was:fresh cocoon procedure>frozen cocoon procedure>dried cocoon procedure>over-dried cocoon procedure.For the partial analysis of the six detection indicators,the rank sum test was used to study the differences among the four cocoon pre-treatment processes:there were significant differences within the groups in the reeling recovery rate indicator(H(K)=7.940,P=0.047,Cohen's ω=0.498,BFinc l=2.208,and fresh cocoon×over-dried cocoon BF10U=4.804);the drying cocoon technology performed the best in the cleanliness score indicator(H(K)=4.707,P=0.195,Cohen's ω=0.384,BF10U for frozen cocoon technology×drying cocoon technology=2.293 and BF10U for fresh cocoon technology×drying cocoon technology=1.047);the rush upon cocoon in reeling process indicator(H(K)=13.706,P=0.003,Cohen's ω=0.654,BFincl=21.829,fresh cocoon×dried cocoon BF10U=33.276,fresh cocoon×over-dried cocoon BF10U=35.437);the intergroup P-values for the reeling length and cleanliness indicators were both greater than 0.05,but the Cohen's ω values were greater than 0.3,indicating a moderate effect;the cocoon silk fineness was little affected by the cocoon pre-treatment process procedure,and the silk weight per cocoon was basically not affected by the cocoon pre-treatment processes.Combined with the actual performance of the four procedures,it is considered that the fresh cocoon procedure is superior to the other three procedures in terms of reeling recovery rate,length of reeled silk and the rush upon cocoon in reeling process,followed by the frozen cocoon procedure,and the cocoon drying process performs the best in the cleanliness indicator. Based on the above analysis of the performance of the four cocoon pre-treatment processes,it is suggested that the dried cocoon procedure should be adopted for reeling high-grade raw silk,but over-drying should be avoided.For general production,the fresh cocoon or frozen cocoon procedure is recommended.In terms of operation process,the fresh cocoon and frozen cocoon procedures have fewer fracture times and lower labor intensity,which can significantly improve reeling efficiency,reduce energy consumption costs,and help improve the economic benefits of reeling enterprises.
