摘要

Abstract

Nanoparticles(NPs),upon introduction into a biological system,interact closely with macromolecules such as proteins present in the physiological environment,leading to the formation of a protein coronas(PC).Thereafter,the physicochemical properties of the nanoparticles are altered to some extent,resulting in the emergence of novel biological attributes.More importantly,the distribution,circulation time,ultimate fate,and toxicity of the particles are accordingly affected within the organism,thereby triggering various biological responses.Herein,we reviewed the recent progress on protein coronas,with focus on the factors influencing protein corona formation,as well as relevant analytical techniques and various controlling methods for protein coronas.In addition,we highlighted current research challenges and presented future directions for the design and advancement of nanoparticles.
