Method for improving temperature stability of Fabry-Perot electro-optic crystal electric field sensor

Abstract
The Fabry-Perot type electro-optic crystal electric field sensor combines a Fabry-Perot resonant cavity with an electro-optic crystal,and has high sensitivity for electric field measure-ment.It has broad application prospects in fields such as electromagnetic environment monitoring in power systems and equipment discharge fault diagnosis.However,due to the thermal optical effect and thermal expansion effect of electro-optic crystals,the laser phase shift inside the Fabry-Perot electro-optic crystal electric field sensor is highly sensitive to changes in ambient tempera-ture,resulting in insufficient temperature stability of the sensor and limiting its engineering appli-cation.This article focuses on how to improve the temperature stability of Fabry-Perot electro-op-tic crystal electric field sensors.Firstly,the influence of environmental temperature on the output response of Fabry-Perot electro-optic crystal electric field sensors was analyzed,and a sensor tem-perature characteristic compensation method based on negative temperature coefficient materials was proposed.By constructing a negative thermal optical coefficient material light passing struc-ture near the position of the electro-optic crystal,the influence of temperature changes on the sen-sor output characteristics was compensated.Secondly,the phase formula of Fabry-Perot cavity with negative temperature coefficient material compensation structure was theoretically analyzed,and the theoretical optimal length of compensation material was derived.The calculation results show that when using polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA)as compensation material,the tempera-ture stability of BGO crystal sensor is improved by 97%,and the full width at half maximum of the sensor temperature influence characteristic curve can be increased by 30 times.关键词
