Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively investigate the coupling relationship between the functional evolution of territorial space and land-use carbon emissions,thereby providing a theoretical basis for the high-quality and sustainable development of the Pinglu Canal Economic Belt.This paper constructs a comprehensive evaluation system from the perspective of"production,living,ecological"functions.It identifies the spatio-temporal evolution characteristics of regional territorial spatial functions from 2010 to 2022,quantifies direct carbon emissions based on land area and emission coefficients,and estimates indirect carbon emissions using a top-down approach.The decoupling relationship and driving mechanisms between territorial spatial functions and carbon emissions are analysed by integrating the Tapio decoupling model with the LMDI decomposition method.The results show that:1)The core areas of production and living functions emerged as the main carbon sources,and their environmental pressure was borne by the peripheral ecological function areas.2)The decoupling status exhibited a fragile inverted"U"shape;its"strong decoupling"phase was largely a passive improvement driven by external policies rather than an endogenous transformation of the development model,and the system lacked resilience.3)The functional driving mechanism revealed a trade-off between production and living functions,where the optimization of production function was the key to achieving decoupling,while the living function acted as the main constraint.4)The driving mechanisms showed significant regional heterogeneity;the pressure in the core areas came mainly from residential consumption,whereas that in the coastal port areas was closely related to the industrial structure.This study contributes to deepening the understanding of the coupling mechanism between functional structures and carbon emissions,providing theoretical support and empirical references for achieving carbon emission reduction governance through functional optimization in the Pinglu Canal Economic Belt.
