Abstract
The academic achievements and practical philosophy of Professor Robert H.Bartlett,the father of extracorpo-real membrane oxygenation(ECMO),have profoundly guided the development direction of the global extracorporeal life support discipline.This article reviews the academic connections between Professor Bartlett and the field of extracorporeal life support in China,elaborating on the guiding role of his core philosophies in the systematic development of ECMO in China.Focusing on the establishment of academic organizations,clinical technological innovation,standardized training systems,national registries,and quality control standards,this article comprehensively presents the remarkable leap of ECMO in China—from fragmented application to large-scale,standardized,high-quality development.Professor Bartlett's lifelong mission—"to enable more pa-tients to receive better ECMO care across a broader scope"—is being carried forward and realized through systematic implemen-tation and continuous innovation in China.关键词
