Policy analysis of traditional Chinese medicine education in China based on text mining

Abstract
Objective To analyze the publication time,issuing bodies,document types,high-frequency keywords,and keyword co-occurrence relationships of policy documents on traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)education in China.The study aims to identify the major policy focuses in TCM education and provide references for the implementation and future research of TCM education policies.Methods To review national-level policy documents on TCM education in China issued from 2009 to 2024,A total of 63 policy documents were included.Text mining methods were employed.Co-word analysis was conducted using software tools such as ROST CM6 and Gephi.Results The temporal distribution of policy issuance showed a multi-peak pattern.The main issuing bodies were the State Council,the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine,and the Ministry of Education.Most policy documents were issued in the form of notices.The top 24 high-frequency keywords were extracted,indicating that policy attention mainly focuses on the construction of TCM clinical teaching bases,the training of TCM physicians,the inheritance-based education model of TCM apprenticeship,and the management of professional master’s degrees in TCM.Conclusion China has issued a considerable number of policy documents on TCM education,with policy content evolving from general development directions to more specific measures.The themes of these policies generally align with contemporary developmental needs.However,certain issues remain,such as insufficient policy synergy and a lack of evaluation-oriented documents.Future policy implementation should clarify the responsibilities of leading departments and strengthen policy evaluation research.关键词
