Artificial Intelligence Technology and Corporate Innovation Efficiency

Abstract
Artificial intelligence is reshaping the paradigm of technological innova-tion and factor combination,acting as a key engine for fostering new quality pro-ductive forces.Using Chinese A-share listed firms from 2010 to 2023 as research samples,this paper adopts the BERT model in natural language processing to deep-ly mine annual report texts and construct micro-enterprise artificial intelligence in-dicators.It further introduces Stochastic Frontier Analysis(SFA)to explore the impact and mechanism of artificial intelligence technology on corporate innovation efficiency.The findings indicate that artificial intelligence technology significantly drives the improvement of corporate innovation efficiency,and this conclusion re-mains valid after the instrumental variable method and a series of robustness tests.Mediating mechanism analysis shows that artificial intelligence technology en-hances knowledge search efficiency by reducing technical inefficiency in the R&D process,thereby further improving corporate innovation efficiency.Heterogeneity tests demonstrate that the innovation-promoting effect of artificial intelligence technology presents stronger marginal gains in state-owned enterprises and non-high-tech industries.At the regional level,this effect shows a significant"latecomer catch-up"feature,with enterprises in the western region achieving greater marginal benefits.This paper reveals the micro-empowerment logic of artificial intelligence technology from a new perspective of knowledge search efficiency,and provides em-pirical evidence for the intelligent transformation of enterprises.关键词
