Comparative Analysis of Design and Construction Standards for Station Pipelines in Gas Storage Projects and Welding Procedure Qualification

Abstract
Gas storage station pipelines involve well sites,gathering and distribution stations,injection-production stations,valve chambers,and distribution stations.The pipelines at various stations fall into three categories—gathering pipelines,industrial metal pipelines,and long-distance pipelines—which are governed by different design standards including GB 50349,GB/T 20801,and GB/T 34275,respectively.This paper compares the core differences among the three pipeline cat-egories in terms of design,construction acceptance,and welding procedure qualification.In design,GB 50349 additionally accounts for medium corrosion effects on the basis of long-distance pipeline wall thickness calculation,while GB/T 20801.3 incorporates manufacturing minus tolerance and machining tolerance.In construction acceptance,long-distance pipeline sta-tions require 100%non-destructive testing,gathering pipelines determine testing ratios based on design pressure and me-dium characteristics,and industrial metal pipelines classify testing ratios by GC1/GC2 grades.In welding procedure qualifi-cation,SY/T 0452 and NB/T 47014 classify qualification factors into essential,supplementary,and non-essential factors,whereas GB/T 31032 uses the concept of basic elements without explicitly defining three categories.Regarding preheat tem-perature changes,SY/T 0452 requires re-qualification when the temperature is reduced by more than 50℃,while NB/T 47014 treats such changes as supplementary factors.In accordance with TSG 31-2025,it is recommended that valve cham-bers and distribution stations temporarily follow the requirements for long-distance pipelines.Within the same project,uni-fied standards and material specifications should be adopted for the same category of pipelines to reduce operation and main-tenance complexity.关键词
