摘要

Abstract

To address the strong long-period swells and high cost of conventional breakwaters in open waters of South America,two innovative schemes are proposed for the 200 000 DWT ore terminal in Lomas,Peru.Firstly,a mined-in basin on rocky coast is constructed using mine blasting and excavation instead of hydraulic dredging to achieve effective shelter and mooring stability.Secondly,hydraulic slurry pipeline transportation is adopted to solve the long-distance transport problem from the mine to the port.This paper presents the design parameters,construction technology of the mined-in basin and the supporting layout of the slurry transportation system.The results show that the mined-in basin significantly increases operational days and reduces investment by 15%~30%;slurry transportation realizes closed-loop and low-consumption operation with greatly reduced storage yard area.The integration of the two technologies forms a new mine-port integrated model,which can provide reference for similar ore terminals.
