Abstract
Neurodegenerative diseases(NDDs)are a group of chronic,progressive neurological disorders characterized by the degeneration,death,and functional loss of neurons and glial cells,with Alzheimer's disease(AD)and Parkinson's disease(PD)being the most common types.At present,due to an incomplete understanding of their pathogenesis,existing therapeutic strategies remain limited in their ability to halt disease progression.Transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation(taVNS)is a safe and non-invasive neuromodulation technique that offers advantages over traditional therapeutic approaches,including fewer side effects and better tolerability.In recent years,taVNS has garnered increasing attention as an emerging therapeutic approach for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.This review focuses on AD and PD,discussing the potential mechanisms and therapeutic applications of taVNS in the prevention and treatment of these disorders,with the aim of providing novel insights for clinical management.关键词
