The Value,Challenges,and Pathways of Large-scale Sports Events in Unleashing the Potential of Urban Sports Consumption

Abstract
Major sports events have progressively evolved into a key catalyst and vital engine for unleashing sports consumption poten-tial and stimulating economic growth.Using methodologies such as literature review and logical analysis,this study examines the prac-tical value and impediments of leveraging major sports events to unleash urban sports consumption potential,and proposes practical pathways.The research concludes that major sports events possess multidimensional value in unlocking urban sports consumption po-tential,including expanding the scale of sports consumption,strengthening consumption-related hardware infrastructure,guiding the transformation of consumption patterns,and enhancing event branding.However,the study also identifies several challenges in prac-tice:insufficient depth in policy understanding and ambiguous delineation of departmental responsibilities;inadequate adaptation in infrastructure upgrades and weak hardware support capacity;insufficient exploration of local resources and a shortage of professional talent;underdeveloped event branding and limited sustained consumption effects.Accordingly,targeted practical pathways are pro-posed:enhancing policy interpretation capabilities and clarifying accountability mechanisms;strengthening infrastructure development and balancing utilization needs;deepening the exploration of information resources and introducing professional talent;cultivating dis-tinctive regional event brands and extending the brand consumption chain.关键词
