Abstract

With the rapid expansion of the electric vehicle market,the number of waste lithium batteries is increasing day by day.Efficient recycling of waste lithium batteries not only helps to alleviate environmental pressure,but also achieves sustainable use of resources.In this paper,the waste ternary lithium battery was taken as the research object,and the anode graphite was used as the reducing agent to realize the selective extraction of lithium by reduction roasting-water immersion method.The effects of different roasting parameters on the selective leaching of lithium were systematically investigated.Combined with thermodynamic analysis,the reaction path of the carbothermal reduction process and the formation mechanism of the key intermediate phase were discussed.The results show that during the reduction roasting process,high valence transition metals such as Co,Ni and Mn are gradually reduced to CoO,NiO and MnO,and further reduced to metal elements with the increase of temperature.Under the condition of roasting temperature of 700℃and roasting time of 90 min,the leaching rate of lithium is 73.42%,which can effec-tively achieve the priority extraction of lithium.The research results can not only provide technical reference for the recycling of waste ternary lithium batteries,but also provide theoretical basis for the optimization of roasting process parameters and the design of reaction path.
