湖南省西北部某矿区周边农田土壤-农作物重金属污染状况及健康风险评估
Heavy metal contamination in soil-crops and health risk assessment around a mining area in northwestern Hunan province

Abstract
To investigate the degree of heavy metal pollution in the surrounding farmland soil and the health risks to the population in a certain mining area in the northwest of Hunan Province,this study collected 94 groups of surface soil samples(0~20 cm)and corresponding crop samples from the farmland.By systematically determining the concentrations of cadmium(Cd),lead(Pb),and arsenic(As)in the soil and crops,the spatial distribution patterns were analyzed.Combined with the potential ecological risk index(RI)and the USEPA probabilistic health risk model,the ecological hazards and health risks to the population caused by heavy metal pollution were quantified.The results showed that:1)The concentrations of Cd,Pb,and As exceeded the risk screening values,with the highest over-limit rate for Cd at 74%.The highest over-limit rate for As was found in rice,and for Pb in vegetables,with over-limit rates of 14%and 20%,respectively.2)There was a highly significant correlation among the heavy metals in the soil,indicating the same pollution source.However,there was no positive correlation between the heavy metals in the crops and those in the corresponding soil.3)The potential ecological risk assessment indicated that Cd,Pb,and As were all significantly enriched,with an average enrichment factor of Cd as high as 11.84,significantly higher than Pb and As.The comprehensive potential ecological risk index(RI)showed that the study area was at a strong risk level,with an average value of 389.16.Cd was the core driving factor,contributing 87.18%.4)The health risk assessment results showed that all soil points had carcinogenic risks,and more than 70%had non-carcinogenic risks.As was the primary risk factor,followed by Pb.The health risks to children were significantly higher than those to adults,with the proportion of non-carcinogenic risks exceeding the limit at 71%for children and 65%for adults.Only 8%of the crop points had carcinogenic risks,and there was no significant non-carcinogenic risk overall.This study revealed that the combined pollution of Cd-As-Pb in the farmland soil around the mining area has led to strong ecological risks and non-negligible health threats to the population.The research results can provide a basis for the implementation of targeted risk control and remediation strategies in this area.关键词
