Analysis of Epidemic Characteristics of Viral Hepatitis C in Yangpu District of Shanghai from 2004 to 2023

Abstract
Objective To analyze the characteristics of viral hepatitis C in Yangpu District of Shanghai in the past 20 years,to provide the scientific basis for optimizing the prevention and control policies of hepatitis C and conducting health education in Yangpu District.Methods Descriptive epidemiological methods were used to analyze the epidemiological characteristic of hepatitis C in Yangpu District of Shanghai.Results A total of 1 923 new cases of viral hepatitis C were reported in Yangpu District from 2004 to 2023,with an annual average incidence of 8.93/105,with the lowest incidence in 2004(0/105)and the highest incidence in 2019(24.01/105).There were statistically significant differences in incidence among different years(P<0.01).From 2004 to 2023,hepatitis C accounted for an average of 19.65%of all viral hepatitis,and the proportion of hepatitis C was on the rise in the past 20 years.The streets with high incidence were Yinxing Street(14.45%),Dinghai Street(13.26%)and Daqiao Street(11.96%).The population with a higher incidence rate was those aged 45 to 59,with the highest rate(17.18/105)among those aged 55 to 59,the incidence of each age group was statistically significant(P<0.01).At all ages,the incidence of male was higher than female,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).Conclusion The incidence of hepatitis C is on the rise from 2004 to 2023 in Yangpu District of Shanghai.The relevant departments need to take targeted measures to carry out health education,high-risk screening,facilitating treatment and other intervention measures in the population with high incidence of hepatitis C.关键词
