Preparation and thermoelectric properties of CsAg5Te3 nanometer thermoelectric materials

Abstract
A ternary CsAg5Te3 thermoelectric material has been successfully prepared with ultra-low inherent low thermal conductivity using solvothermal method combined with spark plasma sintering technology.The structure of the material was characterized by XRD(X-ray diffraction)and SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope),and the results showed that the CsAg5Te3 powder prepared by hy-drothermal method exhibited regular nano-fiber structure.The CsAg5Te3 nano-fibers could be com-pressed into dense thermoelectric blocks after spark plasma sintering.The further testing of thermoe-lectric properties indicated that the thermal conductivity of CsAg5Te3 thermoelectric blocks was ex-tremely low,which was mainly due to the combined effect of its complex crystal structure and regular nano-fiber morphology on enhancing phonon scattering,thus significantly reducing lattice thermal conductivity.Finally,the CsAg5Te3 thermoelectric blocks exhibited excellent thermoelectric perform-ance,with the maximum Z(figure of merit)value reaching 0.25.关键词
