Effect of Two Macrofungal Sclerotium Powder on Mycelia Growth of Eleven Edible Fungi
摘要
Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the promotive effects of sclerotium powders derived from fungi on the mycelial growth of edible mushrooms,as well as to evaluate their potential as novel substrate additives in cultivation media.A systematic analysis was conducted on the chemical composition of two types of large fungal sclerotium powders Wolfiporia hoelen sclerotium powder(WH)and Pleurotus tuber-regium sclerotium powder(PTR)and their influence on the mycelial development of multiple edible mushroom species.Chemical composition analysis revealed that carbohydrates constituted the primary component of both WH and PTR powders, accounting for 83.6%and 72.8%of their content, respectively.Using a cross-combination experimental design, the effects of these two sclerotium powders as culture medium additives were evaluated on the mycelial growth of eleven edible mushroom species:Agaricus bisporus,Auricularia villosula,Fistulina orientalis,Flammulina filiformis,Ganoderma lingzhi,Hypsizygus marmoreus,Lentinula edodes,Lyophyllum decastes,Phlebopus portentosus,Pleurotus eryngii, and Pleurotus pulmonarius. The results demonstrated that both WH and PTR powders significantly enhanced the mycelial growth of most tested species to varying degrees.Specifically,WH powder markedly promoted the growth of nine species A.bisporus,A.villosula,F.orientalis,G.lingzhi,H.marmoreus,L.edodes,L.decastes,P.portentosus,and P.eryngii while PTR powder exhibited significant growth-promoting effects on these nine species plus P.pulmonarius, totaling ten species.Comparative analysis indicated that PTR powder had a more pronounced stimulatory effect on the mycelial growth of A.bisporus and G.lingzhi.Among the eleven species examined,L.decastes exhibited the most substantial response to sclerotium powder supplementation, with mycelial growth rates increasing by one to four times relative to the conventional PDA medium.Beyond enhanced growth rates, morphological improvements were observed in several species, characterized by increased mycelial density and reduced spacing between peripheral hyphae. These findings confirm that the carbohydrate-rich nutritional constituents of fungal sclerotium powders can be effectively utilized by diverse edible mushrooms, significantly promoting both mycelial proliferation and morphological development. This research provides a theoretical foundation and practical reference for the development of novel edible mushroom cultivation media based on fungal sclerotium substrates.关键词
