Research on the Chemical Components,Pharmacology and Toxicology of Jiegeng(Platycodonis Radix)

Abstract
Jiegeng(Platycodonis Radix)as a traditional Chinese medicine with medicinal and edible homology,has complex chemical components and extensive pharmacological activities.At present,76 triterpenoid saponins have been isolated and identified from Jiegeng(Platycodonis Radix).In addition flavonoids,polyacetylenes,phenolic acids,polysaccharides and volatile oil.Pharmacological studies have shown that Jiegeng(Platycodonis Radix)has multiple effects such as antitussive and expectorant,immune regulation,anti-inflammatory,antioxidant,anti-tumor,anti-obesity and liver protection.The mechanism involves inhibiting the expression of MUC5AC protein,reducing the levels of inflammatory factors such as TNF-α,IL-6 and IL-1β,and regulating MAPK,NF-κB,AMPK/PI3K/Akt and other signaling pathways.Toxicological evaluation showed that Jiegeng(Platycodonis Radix)and its saponins had high safety,no obvious organ toxicity,and low hemolytic activity.In addition,Jiegeng(Platycodonis Radix)also shows potential applications in the fields of cosmetics,agriculture and nano material synthesis.In summary,this paper systematically reviewed the chemical components,pharmacological effects,molecular mechanisms,toxicity and multi field applications of Jiegeng(Platycodonis Radix),in order to provide a theoretical basis for the further development,quality evaluation and clinical application of Jiegeng(Platycodonis Radix).关键词
