The Paper Carrying on the Literary Lineage and Technique and Taoism:Exploration of the Origin,Technique,and Tao of Xie Gong's Papers

Abstract
Xie Gong paper originated in the Southern Tang Dynasty and flourished during the Song Dynasty.It stands as both an elegant accessory for the scholar's study and the quintessence of Chinese aesthetic refinement.Its paper color is as brilliant as flowing clouds,its patterns rich in meaning,and its craftsmanship exquisite,deeply embodying the spirit and aesthetic ideals of literati during the Song Dynasty.This article traces its origins,clarifying that while attributed to Xie Jingchu,Xie Gongjian was created by artisans in Sichuan.It dissects core techniques like dyeing and polishing,revealing the intrinsic connection between paper craftsmanship and Song Dynasty material culture and aesthetic concepts.The paper elucidates the literati's artistic sensibilities and social metaphors embodied in the patterns adorning the stationery,while exploring Xie Gong Jian's dual functions:as a medium for literary exchanges and as a status symbol within social rituals.Research indicates that Xie Gong paper not only represents the pinnacle of ancient Chinese stationery craftsmanship but also embodies a comprehensive artistic form integrating poetry,calligraphy,painting,and seal engraving.It reflects the cultural ecosystem of the Song Dynasty,where highbrow and popular elements coexisted under the spirit of literary governance.This research provides a new academic perspective for the study of stationery art.关键词
