Abstract
China faces limited arable land resources, and developing efficient and sustainable agroforestry systems is crucial for ensuring food security and agricultural ecological sustainability. This study focused on an apricot-soybean intercropping system under drip irrigation in Xinjiang, comparing crop dry matter accumulation, photosynthetic charac-teristics,and yield between monocropped soybean(MS)and apricot/soybean intercropping(IS).The results showed that dry matter accumulation in intercropped soybean was 30%~70%lower than that in monocropped soybean across growth stages, but a higher proportion was allocated to reproductive organs during the R3~R7 stages, with higher reproductive organ allocation ratio(RVR)and generally higher stem mass ratio(SMR)under intercropping.Photosynthetic parameters did not differ significantly in the early growth stages;by the R7 stage, net photosynthetic rate and SPAD value were significantly lower in intercropped soybean, while intercellular CO2 concentration was significantly higher.Combined with stomatal conductance analysis, stomatal limitation dominated at the R3 stage, while non-stomatal limitation—namely re-duced photosynthetic activity—dominated at the R7 stage.Yield components such as pod number per plant, grain number per plant,100-grain weight, and yield were significantly lower in intercropped soybean. However, the land e-quivalent ratio(LER)reached 1.496,indicating overall yield advantage of the intercropping system. In conclusion,al-though the apricot-soybean intercropping model inhibits individual soybean growth and photosynthetic efficiency,it en-hances total system productivity through resource complementarity and spatial configuration, providing a theoretical basis for promoting agroforestry models in arid regions.关键词
