The Impact of Digital Technology Innovation on Labor Wage Income:An Analysis Based on Data from the China Family Panel Studies(CFPS)

Abstract
The technological transformations brought by the digital economy era are reshaping the employment ecosystem with unprecedented depth and breadth,profoundly impacting the distribution patterns of labor wage income.Drawing on data from the China Family Panel Studies(CFPS),this study examines the effects and underlying mechanisms of digital technological innovation on labor wage income from the perspective of different job task types.The findings reveal that digital technological innovation accelerates wage income growth for workers in non-routine occupations compared to those in routine occupations.After addressing endogeneity issues,this result remains consistent.Robustness tests employing fixed-effects models,replacing core explanatory variables,accounting for time lags,and incorporating pandemic shocks further validate this conclusion.Mechanism analysis reveals that digital innovation significantly boosts labor wage income for non-routine occupations primarily through industrial upgrading effects,skill premium effects and data factor empowerment effects.Heterogeneity analysis indicates stronger growth potential in wage income for non-routine task labors in regions with higher government digital attention and lower intellectual property protection intensity,as well as among women and low-education groups.The findings reveal task-specific characteristics in how digital innovation drives wage income growth,deepening theoretical understanding of labor wage income expansion under digital transformation while offering fresh perspectives for accelerating common prosperity.关键词
