运用川派中医名家唐廷汉经验膏方联合砭石熨摩治疗老年功能性便秘的临床研究
Clinical study on the treatment of geriatric functional constipation by using bian stone ironing-massage therapy combined with Tang Tinghan's empirical herbal paste

Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical value of treating geriatric functional constipation in the Qi deficiency and Yin deficiency with bian stone ironing-massage therapy combined with the empirical herbal paste developed by Tang Tinghan,a famous doctor of Sichuan school of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).Methods Ninety elderly patients with functional constipation characterized by Qi deficiency and Yin deficiency who were treated at the 2nd Sichuan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from May to September 2024 were enrolled and randomly assigned to a control group or an experimental group(n=45 per group).The control group received conventional treatment,including a balanced diet,adequate water intake,cultivation of regular defecation habits,and moderate physical activity,while the experimental group was further treated with bian stone ironing-massage therapy combined with the empirical herbal paste in addition to the conventional treatment applied to the control group.During the study,the TCM syndrome scores,constipation symptom efficacy index,and Patient Assessment of Constipation Quality of Life(PAC-QOL)were observed and analyzed before and after treatment in both groups.Results After 4 weeks of treatment,the total effective rate of the experimental group(93.33%)was higher than that of the control group(77.78%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Both groups exhibited significant improvements in TCM syndrome scores and PAC-QOL,while the experimental group showing more prominent improvements than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of bian stone ironing-massage therapy with herbal transdermal penetration(using Tang Tinghan's empirical herbal paste)on the basis of conventional intervention is feasible and effective for geriatric functional constipationdue to Qi deficiency and Yin deficiency.It can not only alleviate patients'clinical symptoms and improve their quality of life but also features simple and practical operation,making it worthy of clinical promotion.关键词
