Abstract

Chemical looping oxidative dehydrogenation(CL-ODH)of ethane to ethylene is a new route for converting ethane into high-value-added products.Two perovskite-type oxides Fe2O3/LaFeO3 and Fe2O3/LaNiO3 were prepared using the citric acid complexation method and impregnation method.Their physical and chemical properties were characterized by N2 adsorption-desorption,XRD,SEM,XPS,Raman,H2-TPR,and O2-TPD,and their catalytic activity in CL-ODH of ethane to ethylene was investigated.The results show that both Fe2O3/LaFeO3 and Fe2O3/LaNiO3 maintain the perovskite crystal structure.Fe2O3 has better dispersion on LaFeO3,and Fe2O3/LaFeO3 has higher lattice oxygen content than Fe2O3/LaNiO3.Under the conditions of 650℃,0.1 MPa,and space velocity of 15 000 mL/(g·h),Fe2O3/LaFeO3 exhibits a higher catalytic activity than Fe2O3/LaNiO3,achieving ethane conversion reaching up to 93%and ethylene selectivity of 53%.After 10 oxidation-reduction cycles,Fe2O3/LaFeO3 still maintains excellent oxygen absorption and release capabilities,which makes it an excellent oxygen carrier for CL-ODH of ethane to ethylene.
