Spatiotemporal Evolution,Regional Differences and Driving Mechanisms of Urban-Rural Integrated Development Level in China

Abstract
Promoting urban-rural integration helps address the imbalance in urban-rural development and is of great signifi-cance for achieving Chinese-style modernization.This paper constructs an evaluation index system for urban-rural integrated de-velopment level,measures the development level of urban-rural integration in 30 provinces of China from 2011 to 2024,and fur-ther examines the spatiotemporal evolution characteristics and driving mechanisms.The results go as below:The level of ur-ban-rural integrated development and its various dimensions in China exhibit an overall upward trend,while the development lev-els of factor integration and spatial integration remain lower than that of resource integration.The level of urban-rural integrated development in the eastern region is significantly higher than that in the central and western regions.The overall disparities in ur-ban-rural integration,resource integration,and spatial integration development levels show a declining trend,with overall differ-ences mainly originating from inter-regional disparities,followed by intra-regional disparities and hypervariable density.The de-velopment levels of urban-rural integration and its various dimensions exhibit significant spatial autocorrelation,with"high-high"agglomeration provinces mainly distributed in the eastern region.The effects of per capita GDP,the industrial structure upgrading index,value added of the financial sector,total investment of foreign-invested enterprises,fiscal support,expenditure on urban and rural community affairs,and expenditure on agriculture,forestry,and water affairs on urban-rural integration and its various dimensions are heterogeneous.关键词
