Abstract
[Purposes]Efficient thermal storage technology is the key to solving the problem of in-termittent renewable energy sources,whose performance is determined by phase change energy stor-age materials.Molten chloride salts are widely used as phase change energy storage materials owing to their many advantages,such as high heat capacity and good thermal conductivity.Still,the experimen-tal determination of their thermodynamic properties faces challenges from high-temperature conditions and multiple uncertain factors,and thermodynamic calculation and simulation methods have become more and more important.FactSage is a powerful thermodynamic calculation software that provides ef-ficient methods for thermodynamic simulation of molten salt systems by integrating multiple databases and functional modules.[Methods]In this paper,the application of FactSage were systematically pre-sented on chloride molten salt phase change materials.The phase equilibrium states and thermodynam-ic parameters of the NaCl-KCl-MgCl2-CaCl2 system at different temperatures and the NaCl-KCl sys-tem with different KCl compositions were accurately predicted by the Gibbs free energy minimization algorithm of the Equilib module.The liquid phase line projection map of KCl-MgCl2-CaCl2 and the bi-nary phase diagram of MgCl2-CaCl2 had been successfully plotted with the Phase Diagram module.[Results]This research provids theoretical support for component design and performance optimiza-tion of molten salt energy storage materials,and provides new solutions and ideas for addressing relat-ed problems in the research field of chloride molten salt systems.关键词
