摘要

Abstract

To investigate the potential regulatory mechanisms of flower suppressants on flowering and growth in Artemisia ordosica Krasch.,differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were screened using tran-scriptomic analysis.By combining metabolomic and transcriptomic analyses,we systematically elucidated the regulatory network of plant hormone signaling pathways,metabolite accumulation,and gene expression affected by the flower suppressant.The plant hormones,their associated genes and the metabolic pathways influenced by the suppressant were analyzed.Morphological observations revealed that after the application of the flower suppressant,the size and weight of floral buds were significantly reduced compared to the control group,while the length and branching degree of secondary inflorescence branches were markedly increased.Metabolomic analyses showed that in treated flowers,gibberellins(GAs),strigolactones(SLs),auxins,and jasmonic acid(JA)hormone clusters were upregulated;whereas certain auxin-and cytokinin-related hormone clusters were downregulated.In pedicels,some GA-,auxin-,and JA-related hormone clus-ters were upregulated.These findings are consistent with the transcriptomic results.Integrated analysis of differentially expressed metabolites and genes from both datasets identified the diterpenoid biosynthesis pathway as the most significant pathway influencing metabolite profiles and phenotypic characteristics.Ex-ogenous application of a flower suppressant significantly altered the phenotypic traits of A.ordosica.The primary molecular mechanism involves the regulation of gene expression that affects hormone content which macroscopically manifests as the suppression of reproductive development and promotion of vegeta-tive growth.The reduction in allergenicity is attributed to the downregulation of allergenic components and inhibition of reproductive development.
