Abstract

Polyamide 66(PA66)fibers possess characteristics such as high melting point,good elasticity,high strength,and excellent wear resistance.They are widely used in various fields.With the development of society,many new application scenarios have put forward different functional requirements for fiber materials.To address the inherent functional limitations of PA66,a common approach involves introducing functional additives into the polymer matrix through twin-screw melt blending modification.This method aims to fabricate fibers with specialized properties. This study systematically investigated the influence mechanism of the type and dosage of cool touch additives on the structure and properties of PA66 fibers.Using PA66 as the matrix material,mica and boron nitride were selected as cool touch additives.PA66 chips with a mass fraction of cool touch additives ranging from 0.5%to 1.5%were prepared via melt blending.Subsequently,fibers and fabrics were produced through a melt-spinning process.This paper characterized the crystallization properties of the modified slices,as well as the orientation structure,mechanical properties,cool touch feeling and microscopic morphology of the fibers.The experimental results show that after the addition of mica and boron nitride,the melting temperature of PA66 did not change significantly,but the crystallization temperature and crystallinity both improved.This suggests that the cool touch additives played a role in heterogeneous nucleation,accelerating and optimizing the crystallization process.As the mass fraction of the additive increased,both the microcrystalline orientation and the acoustic velocity orientation of the fibers showed a downward trend.However,the decrease in the acoustic velocity orientation was more significant,indicating that the additive had a more pronounced effect on the molecular chains in the amorphous region.Furthermore,as the mass fraction of the additives increased,the breaking strength decreased from 5.29 cN/dtex to 3.89-4.75 cN/dtex,and the breaking elongation decreased from 41.00%to 29.42%-40.48%.Conversely,the cool touch feeling improved significantly with the increasing additive mass fraction.The PA66-1.5%BN:Mica fibers achieved a Qmax value of 0.217 W/cm2,outperforming single-additive systems.This enhancement was attributed to the fact that the compounded powder,due to differences in particle size,achieved closer packing and better pathway connections,thereby further enhancing the heat transfer efficiency.The morphological analysis revealed that while the additives did not notably alter the fiber surface structure,they did cause the fiber cross-section to become rougher. In summary,the type and mass fraction of cool touch additives have a significant influence on the structure and properties of PA66 fibers.By incorporating mica and boron nitride,it is possible to endow PA66 fibers with excellent cool touch feeling while largely maintaining their mechanical suitability.This study provides both experimental evidence and a technical roadmap for the application of PA66 fibers in the field of functional textiles.
