摘要
Abstract
Polar codes are widely recognized for their low complexity and excellent performance, which approaches the Shannon limit in a wide range of code lengths and rates. For large block lengths,Polar codes can achieve performance comparable to that of LDPC codes, both of which can approach the finite-length performance bound. For very short lengths,Polar codes can still achieve outstanding performance. This paper focuses on a very-short code design within a unified code construction and decoding framework,in order to address the issues of nearly 1 dB performance loss and insufficient coverage caused by the 5G RM codes. The paper proposes parity-check polar codes based on a pre-transformation technique that reuses the NR polar code coding chain. The paper first analyzes the application scenarios and design constraints of very short codes for 6G,and elaborates on the advantages of parity-check polar codes over RM codes. Then, through the code spectrum analysis of pre-transformed polar codes, the paper provides theoretical guarantees for the proposed scheme, with a particular focus on the asymptotic analysis of minimum-weight codewords.Theoretical proofs and simulation results demonstrate that parity-check polar codes can significantly improve the code spectrum, achieving a performance gain of nearly 1 dB(over 10%coverage improvement)at short code lengths, while also being hardware-friendly.Therefore,PC-Polar codes are an ideal candidate for very short block lengths in 6G.关键词
