Research progress on probiotics-fermented Chinese herbal medicine in livestock and poultry production

Abstract
Probiotics-fermented Chinese herbal medicine is an innovative product that combines traditional Chinese medicine theory with modern biotechnology.Through bionic biological grafting,it conducts biotransformation of the active ingredients in Chinese herbal medicine,so as to improve the efficacy and bioavailability of Chinese herbal medicine,enhance the stability and activity of probiotics,and at the same time exert the synergistic effect of both,serving as a new type of additive.Probiotics fermentation of Chinese herbal medicines promotes the release of active ingredients from Chinese medicinal materials,reduces the toxic and side effects of some Chinese herbal medicines,induces the production of new active substances,and thereby improves the taste of Chinese medicines.Fermented Chinese herbal medicines play an important role in maintaining the intestinal environment barrier of livestock and poultry,improving their production performance,preventing and treating their diseases,enhancing their immune function,and improving the meat quality of livestock and poultry as well as the breeding environment.This paper reviewed the modern fermentation technology,advantages,biological characteristics of probiotic-fermented Chinese herbal medicines as well as their applications in livestock and poultry production,providing important reference value for further research on the application of probiotic-fermented Chinese herbal medicines in practical production.关键词
