Abstract

This study systematically investigated the effects of three solid lubricants,polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE),ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene(UHMWPE),and molybdenum disulfide(MoS₂),on the mechanical and tri-bological properties of glass-fiber-reinforced polyamide 66(PA66)composites.The results demonstrate that UHMWPE and PTFE exert a greater influence on the mechanical properties of the composite system,whereas the effect of MoS₂ is relatively limited.Friction coefficient measurements indicate that all three lubricants effectively reduce the friction coeffi-cient of glass-fiber-reinforced PA66,with a pronounced friction-reducing effect under low-speed conditions;under high-speed conditions,the differences among the three lubricants diminish,and the overall friction reduction becomes less sig-nificant.Regarding wear resistance,UHMWPE and PTFE exhibit excellent anti-wear performance,substantially reduc-ing mass loss,while MoS₂ shows only a modest wear-reducing effect.Additionally,higher friction speeds lead to in-creased interfacial temperatures,which in turn exacerbate material wear.These findings provide valuable insights for the tribological modification of glass-fiber-reinforced PA66 composites.
