摘要

Abstract

Getah virus(GETV)is an enveloped,single-stranded,positive-sense RNA virus belonging to the genus Alphavirus.Since its first isolation from Culex mosquitoes in Malaysia in 1955,GETV has been found to infect a variety of vertebrates.The virus is primarily transmitted by mosquitoes;however,over time,the diversity of its vectors has increased,and its geographical distribution has expanded continuously.GETV infection can cause pronounced clinical symptoms in domestic animals such as horses and pigs,including swelling of the hind limbs in horses,diarrhea and death in piglets,and reproductive disorders in sows.With global warming and increased regional movement,the prevalence of GETV has shown a trend toward globalization,posing a serious threat to animal husbandry and public health.Therefore,strengthening surveillance and early warning systems,accelerating vaccine development,and preventing cross-species transmission are of great importance.This review summarizes current research on the pathogenicity,epidemiology,diagnosis,and prevention of GETV,providing references for proactive epidemic control and the development of vaccines or therapeutics against GETV.
