A Scientometric Analysis of Clinical Research on Age-Related Hearing Loss

摘要

Abstract

Objective To investigate the evolutionary trajectory of clinical research on Age-Related Hearing Loss(ARHL),reveal the dynamic shifts in research hotspots and patterns of international collaboration,and forecast future research trends.Methods English-language publications from 2005 to 2024 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection.VOSviewer,CiteSpace,and Microsoft Excel 2021 were used for bibliometric analysis and visualization.Results The volume of clinical research on ARHL has increased steadily,with an average annual growth rate of 28.8%.Notable surges were observed in 2014,2017,and 2023.Research focus shifted from early epidemiological investigations(2005-2010),to comorbidity mechanisms(2011-2016),and recently,to associations with cognitive impairment(2017-2024).Conclusion Over the past two decades,the global research landscape of ARHL demonstrates both increasing integration and diversification.It has undergone three major paradigm shifts:from peripheral auditory mechanisms to central nervous system involvement,from single-discipline research to multidisciplinary integration involving clinical medicine and public health,and from observational studies to to interventional research and precision medicine approaches.Current research hotspots focus on the causal mechanisms linking ARHL and cognitive impairment,difference in intervention outcomes,and multisensory compensation strategies.
