Higher Vocational Education Promoting Regional Scientific and Technological Innovation:Theoretical Logic,Empirical Measurement and Paths Optimization

Abstract
Against the backdrop of building a powerful education country and accelerating the development of new-quality productive forces,the technological support function of higher vocational education has become increasingly prominent.Based on panel data from 31 provincial-level regions in China from 2019 to 2023,this study constructs evaluation index systems for the scientific and technological innovation and service capacity of higher vocational education and the level of regional scientific and technological innovation.Using the entropy-weight method,the coupling coordination model,and the spatial Durbin model,it measures the current level,spatiotemporal evolution,and influencing factors of the synergy between the two systems.The results show that the overall synergy remains at a relatively low level and exhibits a recovery pattern characterized by an initial decline followed by a subsequent rise.Spatially,it presents a gradient pattern of"high in the east and low in the west",with local high-value clusters gradually emerging.Enterprise R&D investment and labor quality are important drivers for improving the synergy level.Therefore,it is necessary to strengthen institutional supply,build integrated platforms for the convergence of industry,science and education,optimize program structures and regional layouts,and improve collaborative governance mechanisms so as to continuously enhance the supporting effects of higher vocational education on regional scientific and technological innovation.关键词
